Savoring Summer at Olde Salt House

At the newly renovated Olde Salt House restaurant located on Cohasset Harbor, you will experience the essence of New England outdoor dining combined with a delicious summer menu & cocktail program, developed by Red Lion Tavern Executive Chef, Phil Lewis.

Classic seasonal flavors are complemented by breathtaking waterfront views, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and memorable. As you sit on the patio with friends, you can watch the boats come and go, all while soaking in the summer ambiance and creating memories that will last long after the breeze turns cooler.

This unique combination of delicious cuisine, creative cocktails, and beautiful scenery makes Olde Salt House the perfect destination for those looking to enjoy the best of what our New England summer has to offer.

A carefully curated menu showcases everything from appetizers to handhelds and cocktails to spirit-free options perfect for pairing, mixing, and matching as we hold onto these fleeting summer days and nights. Open 7 days a week (Monday-Saturday 11am to 10pm, Sunday 11am to 9pm) and featuring longtime local favorites like the Mongolian Chicken Tenders and a Traditional Lobster Roll, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

The Mongolian Chicken Tenders have their own “fan favorite following” and local residents are thrilled to see them back on the Olde Salt House menu. Served with a housemade coconut dipping sauce, these tenders are a little sweet, a little crunchy, and have a silky smooth finish (if dunking in sauce) to have you daydreaming that you are on a tropical island just a few minutes from your own home. Pair this appetizer with a Mai Tai from Bar Jan Corner. Her crafted cocktail will have you slipping on your shades as you watch the sun go down.

The Traditional Lobster Roll, served with house coleslaw and French fries is lightly dressed, incredibly fresh, and dusted with a sprinkle of herbs and citrus for a pop of tang and herbaceous depth to cut the richness of the hand-picked lobster itself. Add a cold local craft beer or chilled glass of white wine and you have the quintessential New England meal that is perfectly balanced and ready to savor.

Classic menu items like the Fish & Chips and Crispy Rhode Island Calamari add a nostalgic touch for diners young and old.  Add a squeeze of lemon and enjoy the housemade dipping sauces, going classic with tartar sauce or spicing things up with pickled pepper aioli or chipotle crema. The pickled pepper aioli comes with the Calamari, but I personally want a side of that with pretty much everything on the menu (it’s SO good). The Aperol Spritz is a super light and refreshing cocktail that pairs perfectly with these classically fried seafood menu options.

If you are in the mood for something a little lighter or just stopping in for a mid-day, work-day lunch, the OSH Cobb Salad is hearty enough to be a full meal and delicate enough to fuel you without weighing you down. Add a protein like grilled chicken or shrimp and pair it with the Summertime Blues mocktail. You’ll sneak in a few minutes of summer downtime AND stay motivated through the rest of your day (until you return at night to dig into those Mongolian Chicken Tenders and a Mai Tai with your friends).

Restaurant Manager, Jon Desai, and his team are ready to welcome you back to Olde Salt House this summer. Try these delicious food & beverage pairings and create a few of your own – summer is far from over and this is the perfect time to spend more time filling your cup and making new memories at one of the South Shore’s favorites, and newly reimagined, nostalgic places.

Pro tip: order a sampling of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and platters and share with the whole family so everyone can try a little bit of everything (if you are dining with me, we are probably ordering the entire menu so let me know when you want to go!).
